The origin of the monastery dates back to the 8th century but it has been restored on several occasions over the centuries and hence display a distinctive array of architectural styles that range from late Gothic to Renaissance.

Its architecture presents crossed arches in tuff on two sides of the portico, of the late fourteen century, and two other sides by round arches on octagonal pillars.
